Leura Fine Woodwork Gallery
You take a dogleg through the door, and it's like entering artisan heaven.
If you love the feel of expertly turned and carved woods, not to mention the glowing, warm colours, this is your place. Showcasing the talents of amazing artists from all over Australia, this store is a little, quiet bit of calm and beauty. While I can't ever imagine being able to afford the handmade furniture (I wish), there's a range of small items too. Bowls with the nubby surfaces still left on the edges, smooth chopsticks made out of a selection of native woods, chopping boards and boxes with tiny little drawers in them.
A couple of my favourites were the articulated fish, yes, made out of wood, which bent and swam in your hand and a set of salt and pepper grinders that felt like they'd been made specifically to fit my little mits. A testament to creative people and the wonders they produce. Beautiful.

Lost Bear Gallery
Just love this gallery. The owner has a fantastic eye and is always welcoming, the setting is beautiful, there is an excellent selection of local artists, and always something that I totally fall in love with... wish I could afford to buy them all! There is now a relatively new small sculpture garden, looking forward to seeing how this progresses through the years. The gallery dog is fab too.

Blue Mountains Cultural Centre
This elegant gallery is stunning and exhibitions are changed regularly. Art work generally relates to the Blue Mountains, unless it's the Archibald Portrait exhibition. Allow time to see the World Heritage Centre as well. This tranquil space is best appreciated by sitting on the seats located against the wall or by just sitting down on the floor. The Cafe offers fabulous coffee and a variety of light lunches and snacks. The gift shop sells an eclectic range of goods most made by Blue Mountains artisans. Adrian Gilbert Art Studio
Adrian Gilbert is an Australian artist/painter living and working in Leura a town in the Blue Mountains. His vocation now spans forty years. Primarily a studio painter who attends a regular life drawing group and occasionally sketches in the bush, his practice includes the preparation of supports and grounds for painting as well as the framing of finished work. From time to time, he also engages with a range of sculptural ideas which he began developing in the early '80s. When deadlines demand it, he focuses on special projects (thematic shows, portraits or other commissions). Most of his studio work revolves around analysis and experiments which cultivate the muse at the same time as saying something about art, the landscape, human form or life in general.

Bygone Beautys Treasured Teapot Museum & Tearooms
Apart from being a lovely clean old fashioned café, it is also a museum and shop with a display of over 5000 teapots from all over the world! The teapot collection is apparently the largest private collection in the world and spans a 500 year period.
All the staff members were very friendly, helpful and polite and were also dressed in traditional attire.
We chose the Devon Tea which consisted of good sized scones with very generous portions of freshly whipped cream and strawberry jam. It was quite busy there despite the weather so we would recommend booking in advance if you are a large party.
It was a real treat and we recommend.

Everglades Historic House & Gardens
Always stunning, no matter what season, as the gardens are a lovely stroll all year round and always have something pituresque on offer each season. Although I must admit autumn here is my favourite! The lovely ladies that volunteer in house make enticing scones and cakes to purchase and a hot cuppa to wash it down. The buildings are stunning as is the history. Well worth a visit!

Declared a World Heritage Area in 2000, the Blue Mountains draw millions of visitors each year to marvel at the views, breath the fresh air and enjoy the mountain villages.
It’s also a great place to live and work, as we at the Blue Mountains Gin Company can testify.
